This release maps the 1,572 active pharmaceutical ingredients in ChemMeta’s inventory to the companies that manufacture them. Pharmaceutical company content is available to select users interested in participating as beta testers. Please contact your account manager to learn more. This release also updates general acceptance scores with the most recent scientific publications investigating ChemMeta's inventory of 3,470 hypotheses of bodily injury attributable to chemical exposures and 529 hypotheses of bodily injury attributable to pharmaceutical exposures.
Distinct chemical and pharmaceutical modes
This release creates distinct modes for displaying ChemMeta content for its inventory of pharmaceuticals and other non-pharmaceutical chemicals (referred to simply as "chemicals"). Users can switch between modes by using the chemical and pharmaceutical links available in the upper-right corner of every ChemMeta page (1). As of this release, there are 1,905 chemicals available in chemical mode and 1,572 pharmaceuticals available in pharmaceutical mode. Chemicals that have both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical applications are available in both modes. Portfolios (including “favorites”) are specific to each mode.
Pharmaceutical mode is not available to all users. For users who do not have access to pharmaceutical content, ChemMeta will appear and function largely as it did before this release.
Pharmaceutical company content
This release maps ChemMeta’s inventory of 1,572 active pharmaceutical ingredients to companies that hold New Drug Applications (NDA) or Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA) for those drugs. As of this release, 695 companies have been mapped to the pharmaceutical inventory. Both parent and subsidiary companies are represented in the data. A future release will make these corporate relationships more apparent.
Users can search for specific companies in the dashboard page under Company Portfolios (2). All tables can be filtered by company as well. For example, users can filter the pharmaceuticals table to get a list of the pharmaceuticals for which a specific company holds either an NDA or ANDA. Conversely, from the pharmaceutical detail page, users can see all the companies that hold NDAs or ANDAs for a given pharmaceutical. A new companies table (3) is also available that allows users to sort pharmaceutical companies by various measures including number of pharmaceuticals and average and maximum current and projected general acceptance scores.
Company portfolios (including "favorites") can be created to track pharmaceutical information for a collection of pharmaceutical companies. Pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical company portfolios interact (4). For example, a user could create a pharmaceutical portfolio consisting of all ACE inhibitors and then interact that pharmaceutical portfolio with a single pharmaceutical company or portfolio of pharmaceutical companies.
As of this release, users can create their own "favorites" portfolio within the ChemMeta application but must work with their account manager to create other portfolios of interest.
Simplified chemicals/pharmaceuticals table
The chemicals/pharmaceuticals table has been simplified so that clicking on the chemical or pharmaceutical name directs the user to the corresponding chemical or pharmaceutical detail page. Clicking on the number of harms in the final column of the table will direct the user to the harm hypotheses table filtered for that chemical or pharmaceutical.
